Qualifier 3 and 4 are in the books.....

Qulifier 3 (Saturday) was a rain out. Sunday came upon us, the weather cleared, and the racing was on. With the day set for a 2 Moto transfer and Double points every lap counted. Our riders did not disappoint. The Team scores have not come out yet but we are waiting with anticipation.

Niko Weppner, Our youngest rider, in the 5 and under Rookie class pulled in a PERFECT.....Ethan Martinez ....PERFECT. Favio Mojica continued to impress with another great showing, missing a perfect by placing 2nd in moto 1. Juan Hinestrosa, after a long lay off is back and in good form as well. With one very strong moto he was primed for the 2nd. After a tire slide in corner one Juan managed a 5th place. Here comes the main....Going into the first corner in contention for 1st place, conditioning started to play a part but he held on for a strong 3rd place finish.

All our WCR riders did excellent and we are very excited for the rest of the year.

This coming weekend January 16th - 17th @ Jacksonville BMX. Let's get motivated for the rest of the season! The cold weather should be behind us by then and we should all be ready to go. I know I am! It is time to get serious and work off all that holiday and cold weather eating.... It' s time for us to ride hard in our moto's and start climbing the Team leader board.

I would like to start up a Saturday or Sunday conditioning clinic. If one of those days don't work for you then please let me know what day would work best for you or your rider. So please email me what days and times would best fit in your schedules.

It's that time again! NBL 2010 State Season.

  Another season has come and gone. And what a season it was! First of all I would like to congratulate every WCR rider on a great season. And the parents for all their support as well. It was a pleasure to watch every rider grow and improve as the season went on. We had some new additions to the team after the start of the season and these riders rode hard and strong for us through the end. We had some 2nd season riders who went through growing pains of moving up the ladder from Rookie to Novice or Novice to Expert and up in age brackets as well. They too proved strong to the end. WCR went from 11th overall in the 2008 Season up to 6th overall for the 2009 Season. Pretty Awesome for a 2nd year team, I think. I truly feel that we have gathered an exceptional group of riders and parents. If we continue to work hard and together as a team there is nothing that we, as a team, should not be able to accomplish. And our riders will have the support needed to accomplish their goals and dreams as BMX racers. Watching all our riders finish so high in the State Standings and continue on with the Regional and National events makes all the hard work well worth it! Keep it up!

  Your WCR Management staff is hard at work trying to work out some summer Fun and Activities as well as some summer time clinics. More on that as it comes together.

  Again congratulations to all our riders and parents to an outstanding season. I hope see you all during the summer and for next season!

This weekend, May 2nd & 3rd is our Last State Qualifier of the 09 State Season @ Tamps BMX. We are defending our Sunday win from the Port Charlotte BMX Qualifier. We will be having a team meeting Saturday Morning So please try and be there early. meeting will be 10:00 am - 10:15 am.

 

We have a busy weekend coming up! April 24th (Friday Night Race), Sat. 25th Clinic 1:pm to 3:pm (Naples BMX), Sunday 26th Tampa BMX all day practice 10:am - 3:pm and points only Race @ 3:30. Mark your Calendars and hope to see you all.

Remember!! We where #1 at Charlotte on Sunday so we are in the parade lap in Tampa on Saturday. We need to defend our #1 finish!!!!

IF you have not checked lately, the Trophy Team standings have been updated. We are still in 5th place overall but only a few points from moving up a couple of positions. We need to have a strong showing both Saturday and sunday in Tampa. Lets show them that our 1st place finish in Port Charlotte was no fluke! Keep training and hope to see you all at the track.

Juan Hinestrosa - Recovering from surgery. Should be back in another week or maybe two.

Jorge Barba - Jorge was at St. Cloud practicing and tok a spill and fractured his collar bone. He will be out for probably 3 weeks. Hope is is good to go intime for the Tampa qualifer.

Great qualifier! Charlotte BMX pulled off a fantastic race weekend and we took it for what it was worth! Saturday was a tough day for some of our newer team members with some thrills and spills, but the veteran team members helped us maintain a 7th place finish. Sunday was our day! The new and veteran riders all came with a mission in mind and something to prove. And PROVE IT THEY DID.... Three of our riders had perfects all the way through the Mains. SIX riders had perfect scores through their moto's, and that is what the team score is based on. Four other riders had as close to perfect moto's as you can get with out having a perfect! What this all means is that Team WCR placed #1 for Sunday!!!!!!!!

This weekend March 14th & 15th is the Florida State Qualifier #5 & #6 at Charlotte BMX. Our goal is to move up from 5th place and get into another parade lap. Bring your energy, your legs, and Let's Go! See you all there.

 

Rider Clinic Featuring Pros "Ezel Johnson" and "Percy Owens". February 21, 2009 @ Naples BMX 1:00 pm- 3:00 pm. What a great way to get wormed up and tuned up for the Bob Warnicke Race at 4:00 pm. Cost is just $20.00 for a Great Clinic!

St. Pete home to our next team event (State Qualifier 3 &4) is hosting an all day practice from 10-5 Sat the 10th $10.00  and single race 5-6:30 reg/prac $5.00
we will also do an all day practice Sun the 11th 10-5 $10.00  and again on Sat the 17th 10-5 $10.00

Florida Brings Home The Presidents Cup!!!!!

Valerie Keyser (Founder of WCR) took a hard fall on Sunday and sustained a shoulder injurey and many bumps and bruises. We at WCR want to wish her a speedy recovery.

2008 Summer Series Team Champions!!!!!

Way to ride!

2009 State Season Qualifier 1 & 2..... Playing with all the big guns now we let them know that we are not going to go away. An excellent score of 18 and a 4th place finish for Saturday. It came down to a 3 way tie for 3rd place between WCR, Prime Time, and Force Racing. After going through the tie breakers we missed 3rd place by 2 points!

Sunday with some tired kids and a couple of slipped peddles and falls, we managed a solid 5th place finish. Out of 15 teams we are definitely cranking those peddles. Great Work!

It will not be easy but if we keep riding hard we should be in the top 5 all season. So lets Practice hard, keep our equipment in good shape, and push for #1!!!!

Not to brag or anything, BUT DID WE KICK SOME HINEY at the Naples BMX Summer Series Race or WHAT!!!! Saturday Night, Team WCR scored a Perfect 15.....Sunday morning, Team WCR started a little rough but at the end of the day, scored a Perfect 15 AGAIN!!!!!

Just remember, "it's not time to let up". The next Team event is the Summer Series Final being held at Miami South BMX and the same weekend is the Start of the 2009 State Series. So lets ALL ride hard and keep the momentum going right into the start of the 2009 State Season. Not to mention how nice it would be to have a team championship on our record! Pedal hard and aride often!

And yes we are working on an End of Season/Beginning of Season party.

Hey all, The 2008 Summer Season has kicked off.

Daytona BMX September 13th and 14th.

Saturday was a little tough on us scoring a 24 and ending up at the back of the pack. Sunday how ever we redeemed ourselves and pulled out a 2nd place finish. All in all, a Great start. Our next event is at Naples BMX on October 11th and 12th. Let's get the practice in and have another great weekend of racing.

 

 

 

WE DID IT!

It is such an honor to have each and everyone of you apart of WCR. This includes parents and families of our riders as well. Together we came along way and ended up taking home 9th place out of 21 teams. We had a few set backs and uncertainties throughout the year but all in all for our first year, we think we did an amazing job and its because of ALL of you. The love and support we have as a team is so strong and is very much appreciated by everyone. There are not many teams that get together outside of our busy BMX lives to build the chemistry that we share as a team. So we want to thank each one of you for an awesome year. Way to go! :)

Our teammate, our friend, and BMX coach has moved back to his home country of Bolivia. Even though we are sad to see him leave, we all are so thankful to have had the opportunity to have him apart of both WCR and Naples BMX. He has inspired so many through his love for the sport of BMX and no one will ever forget. We love you Widen!

 

Donna Snow - Miss Sarasota USA 2009!

 

Nineteen young ladies vying for the titles of Miss Sarasota USA and Miss Sarasota Teen USA 2009 graced the stage at the Sahib Shiners' Temple on Saturday February 2nd 2008.

Our very own Donna Snow competed in this pageant and won Miss Sarasota USA 2009! We want to congratulate her and wish her the best of luck with the Miss Florida USA pageant coming up in July. Great job!!!

2007 Summer Series- Charlotte BMX Oct. 13th-14th 2007

 

Even though we did not compete this past weekend at Port Charlotte, we wanted to congratulate all of our riders for doing an awesome job. Everyone raced hard and had fun!

The NBL did apologize for not having enough awards and will still be getting them for the riders who did not receive one. I will take a list of our riders to the next Qualifier.

Don't forget our FIRST team race will be at Daytona on November 10th and 11th 2007. We will have a team meeting before then to let everyone know what’s expected and to also answer any questions and/or concerns.
